Sleep Well At Night
Original Medicare only covers about 80% of your medical bills. There are deductibles to be met, copay’s, coinsurance. In other words, if you get sick you can be left with a huge medical bill.
Fortunately for you there is a solution. Many insurance companies offer Medicare supplement plans that pay most or all of what Medicare does not pay.
Medicare supplement plans, Medigap policies, Advantage Plans, or simply Med supp . . . all of this can be quite confusing. As part of the baby boomer generation, I know how challenging it can be if you are trying to decide which Medicare supplement plan is right for you.
Most seniors opt for Medicare supplement plans F because it has the fewest “holes”. Advantage plans may seem inexpensive with their low premiums, but if you become ill you could be left with thousands of dollars in unpaid medical bills.
When you have Medicare supplement plans like Medigap plan F, all of your deductibles and copay’s not covered by original Medicare are paid
With Medicare supplement plans such as plan F you have peace of mind in knowing you won’t have to pay $4,000 – $6,000 or more for your medical care.
10 Standardized Medicare Supplement Plans + 1
There are currently 10 standardized supplement plans + 1 “high deductible” plan. All 11 Medicare supplement plans are available in Georgia but most carriers only offer half a dozen or so rather than all 10 (11) plans.
All standardized Medicare supplement plans are identical to the same plan from different insurance companies. When you are looking at Medicare supplement plans from AARP they have exactly the same benefits as supplement plan F from Blue Cross or Gerber or any other carrier.
If each plan is identical, then what is the difference?
The price and underwriting.
There is never a good reason to pay too much for protection. When you pay more, you don’t get more, you simply paid too much.
If you are in a guarantee issue period, underwriting is not a factor so the only difference from carrier to carrier is price. If you are 65 years old, living in Georgia, and one carrier charges $150 for plan F while another charges $93 why would you pay the extra money for a “name brand”?
If you are like most seniors in Georgia, living on a fixed income, you need to save money any way you can and one of the easiest ways to do this is finding a plan that meets your needs AND budget.
You Never Have to Worry When You Pick the Right Medigap Plan
Medicare supplement plans (or Medigap) are designed to fill the gaps in coverage left by Medicare. They are sold by private insurance companies, not the government.
When you choose the right Medicare supplement plans in Georgia you can sleep well at night knowing you will not have to worry about unexpected medical expenses. Your Medicare approved doctor, not some insurance company, decides what treatment is right for you.
